The Bell Inn - Ash

The Bell Inn - Ash

I started going to The Bell after the closure of the Wheatsheaf in South Petherton. It became the new venue for the Traditional Musicians night that is held on alternate Wednesdays.I am a musical dunderhead so I go to listen, but if you play an instrument please come along they are a really friendly crowd.

Inside the bar is split into separate areas that I presume reflect the original room structure. This gives it a very pleasant feel. At the back of the bar is a function room/ skittle alley which is very much part of the pub. I really liked this arrangement.

Outside there is a very pleasant well maintained garden.

Now down to the serious stuff the beer. The regular beers are Wickwar Bob and Fuller's London Pride and then there are two guest beers that come from quite a wide range such as Betty Stoggs - Stargazer - Golden Arrow to name but a few. So no complaints there. I did not check on the cider but I think they had Stowford Press.

I have only eaten here a couple of times but the food was good. It is good tasty pub food that is excellent value for money. If you click on the link to their website at the bottom you will find sample menus and details of their music events.

This is the first pub I have visited so far that is really well laid out for wheelchair users, with level access everywhere and a purpose built toilet. I notice when I went in one lunchtime to take the photographs there were two wheelchair users in the bar.
